Q. What time is check-in and where do I go?

A. Check-in begins at 8am at UNH's new Super Field (see map under "Driving and Staying"). When you arrive, go to the alphabetical roster, find your name, team and jersey #. Soon after, when your team is called, go onto the field to check in with your coach, meet your team and receive your jersey.

Q. Where are the fields and parking?

A. The new "Super Field" is located 200 yards to the right (west) of the UNH Field House. From Lot A parking (see below), walk across the street, keeping to the right of the Field House, follow the walkway passing between the tennis courts and the elevated Bremner Turf Field to the new field complex, which is 50 yards beyond Bremner Field. You'll think you're heading into the woods (and you are). See map below. A map is posted in the "Driving and Staying" section of this website.

Parking is free in "Lot A" directly across the street from the Field House.

DO NOT ATEMPT TO PARK OR DROP OFF PLAYERS ON THE FIELD HOUSE SIDE OF THE STREET! TRAFFIC POLICEMEN WILL BE ON SITE AND WILL IMMEDIATELY TICKET YOU - THE FINES ARE BIG!

Q. What team will I be on?

A. We assign teams and put the schedule together at the last possible minute so we can balance the teams as best as possible. There is no advance notice of what team or what schedule you will play. Each player will play four games on Saturday and two games on Sunday. First rounds begins on Sat at 8:45am and at 9:00am on Sun. Last game ends on Sat at 4:40; last regular game ends on Sun at 12:20. Those making the all-star team will play immediately after the selection is announced.

Q. What equipment should I bring?
A. You'll be playing on an astro-play field and two grass fields, so bring your cleats. Also any extra laces, mouthguards, etc. you would take to any other game.

ABSOLUTELY NO METAL CLEATS; FOOD OR COLORED SPORTS DRINKS WHICH STAIN THE FIELDS) ARE ALLOWED ON THE FIELDS -- WATER IS, OF COURSE, OKAY.

Q. Where can I get lunch, snacks and drinks?
A. Because University event contract food concessionaire's generally offer spectator food -- which is rarely ideal for athletic competition -- we recommend you bring lunch and healthy snacks. UNH's historic Dairy Bar is across the road, 3 minutes away, and downtown Durham has lots of eating options. We provide our staff and the college coaches Panera box lunches. There will be a limited number left over, available at cost.

There are not yet water spigots on this new field area, however water will be readily available at all benches and the First Aid tent. Your best bet is to bring your own water bottle to start with and then re-fill frequently. Drink lots of fluids all day -- believe me, you will need it.

IMPORTANT: Clean up after yourself and take out any plastic bottles and trash you bring to the facility.

Q. Is housing provided?
A. No. We reserved a block of rooms at the New England Center, just down the street from the fields -- details are available under "Driving and Staying." If there is nothing available there, you can find any number of accomodations in the Portsmouth area through Travelocity and Expedia.

Q. I am currently a sophomore. Can I apply?
A. Yes. Though the NEPL Showcase is ideally designed for junior class (rising seniors) players who are eligible by NCAA rules to be approached by college coaches, recommended sophomores can be accepted with the understanding that they are attending NEPL to "get into the recruiting loop" and acquaint themselves with a recruiting opportunity that will benefit them in the future. Sophomores generally account for 25% of the total number of players.

Q. My parents will be bringing me. Other then watching my games, is there much for them to do in the area?
A. The Durham/Seacoast area is a major vacation attraction with beaches only miles away. There are also numerous outlet-shopping opportunities, plus antiquing, golf and much more.
