
It's easy to get to UNH by air, train, and bus.
By Airplane
UNH is connected to three major airports. Each airport has scheduled transit and private transportation options to get to UNH:
Logan International Airport, in Boston, MA, is approximately 60 miles from Durham. Arriving passengers have several options for getting to Durham/UNH:
- C&J Trailways provides frequent bus service to Dover, N.H., and to the Pease Transportation Center in Portsmouth, N.H. Dover is connected to Durham by the Wildcat Transit Route 3 service or taxi (six miles).
- Connect to the Amtrak Downeaster either via the T in Boston (go to North Station) or using Logan Express Bus Service to Woburn, Mass. (Anderson Transportation Center).
- Private limo and charter services are provided by Hampton Shuttle (1-800-225-6426).
Manchester Airport, in N.H., is approximately 40 miles from Durham.
Bus service is not available from Manchester to Durham, but private limo and charter services are provided by Hampton Shuttle (1-800-225-6426) and Mermaid Transportation (www.gomermaid.com)
Portland International Jetport, in Maine, is approximately 50 miles from Durham. Arriving passengers can take the shuttle or taxi to the Portland Amtrak Station, then take the Amtrak Downeaster directly to Durham.
By Train
Amtrak Downeaster service provides four round-trips daily between Boston (North Station) and Portland, Maine. The Downeaster service stops directly at the UNH campus seven days a week. Reserved and unreserved seating is available and a Quik-Trak ticketing machine is available at the Whittemore Center next to the rail station.
Travelers can connect to Boston South Station Amtrak Service and Logan Airport via MBTA subway service.

By Bus
C & J Trailways bus lines provides direct service to Durham from South Station in Boston, MA, Friday through Sunday only. Seven-day service is provided to the Portsmouth-Pease Transportation Center (a 20-minute ride from Durham or a 10-minute ride to Portsmouth, N.H.'s Market Square to connect to Wildcat Transit Route 4.
Greyhound (Vermont Transit) provides daily service from Boston's South Station to Portsmouth, N.H.'s Market Square. Connect to Durham from Market Square using Wildcat Transit.
UNH Wildcat Transit connects the neighboring communities of Portsmouth, Newmarket, and Dover with daily academic year service.
